Better Than Having Luck

We blinked and the month of March is here. What are you looking forward to this month? Is it St Patrick’s Day? Do you like to wear green and look for four leaf clovers? The world wants us to believe it is a day about luck, but as Christians we know we don’t need good luck because we have Jesus. James 1:17 tells us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly…

Heart Check

If I speak in human or angelic tongues  but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I give away all my possessions, and if I give over my body in order to boast  but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love…

Parenting is one of the hardest jobs, but also one of the most rewarding jobs. In fact, Psalm 127:3 says, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” Unfortunately, there are some days that children don’t necessarily feel like a reward. Truth be told, some days, parenting is downright hard. One thing we do know though, is how important parenting is and how important it is to parent God’s way. Parenting the world’s way is one…

New Year, Same God

Have you heard the saying, “new year, new me?” What does that mean? What do you need to change to be new this year and how will you do it? More importantly, can you change on your own? I like the saying, “new year, same God” better. God says in Malachi 3:6 “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed.” He reminded the Israelites that He does not change. He reminded them…

Merry Christmas

“In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole empire should be registered. This first registration took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So, everyone went to be registered, each to his own town. Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family line of David, to be registered along with Mary, who was engaged…

Giving To Others

Is it just me, or did December arrive overnight? There is something special about December though. The world would have you believe this time of year is for shopping, decorating, eating, and receiving that perfect gift, but we have already received the perfect gift. God loved us so much that He sent His one and only son to come to earth and be born as a baby. God sent His son to save us from our sins so that we…

Where Is Your Urgency?

Ur-gen-cy noun 1. importance requiring swift action. Where is the urgency in your life? As the Faith Builder in your home, you should be living with a sense of urgency. Have your children accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior? If not, where is your urgency in making sure that your children know…
