Delivering Goodness

With turkey, ham, green beans, dressing, pies and more, 193 seniors in Little Elm, were delivered Thanksgiving lunch to their door. Our CrossRidge Cares team did an amazing job serving senior residents in Lakeside Manor Senior Apartments this past Saturday. Al Gaines, Connections Pastor at CrossRidge, with help from Zandi Mccaroll, led the charge in coordinating everything and making it a huge success. Donations came in from surrounding company’s to pay for the food while Tower’s Tap House prepared and…

Painting and Recipes

This past Saturday, over 90 ladies showed up at our Pizza and Painting event. By the end of the night, each person painted the cover for their own cookbook, made up of recipes from each person who came. From appetizers, to soups, entrees, desserts and more, we had almost 100 recipes shared between the group. A huge thank you goes out to Amy Smith and all of her work in leading the evening and helping make it a huge success.…

Resident Blessings

CrossRidge showed up for November Dollar Days by donating $2,187 to Lakeside Manor. Lakeside Manor offers seniors 62 years and older affordable apartment homes in Little Elm. With the money donated, we purchased items residents were in need of and delivered them on Wednesday morning. The residents and staff were very appreciative of the items donated. Thank you for donating to Dollar Days and thank you to all who helped deliver the items. Below is a breakdown of all the…

Back to School Supplies

Because of your gifts to Dollar Days and donations throughout July, we delivered 60 packed backpacks to Little Elm ISD. That’s a ton of backpacks. Okay, maybe not a literal ton, but it was enough backpacks to fill the bed of a truck and then some. Money from Dollar Days paid for the backpacks, while donations from church members were used to fill each one. Volunteers came up the night before the delivery to pack all the backpacks. They packed…

Mountains, Water, and Smelly Rooms

Another student camp is in the books. This year we took 58 people of which 45 were kids and 13 were adults, to Glorieta, New Mexico. Glorieta sits in the southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The mountains usually provide a great getaway from the Texas heat that all Texans are far too familiar with. This year, the weather was a little warmer than normal during the day but the nights were fantastic and it was definitely not as hot as Little…

Not of Fear But One of Love and Sound Judgement

Over 100 men attended this year’s No Fear Men’s Conference. From Friday night to Saturday afternoon, men heard from Pastor Marc how “God has not given [them] a spirit of fear, but one of love and sound judgment.” He spoke about how God has equipped us to be fearless, courageous warriors for Jesus! How their wives, children, families, friends, and all those around them need them to live by faith, not fear. During the three sessions, time was taken out…

Noodles and Baskets

That’s amore! The people of CrossRidge Church showed up and hugely supported the student ministry and broke all previous records in the process. The Student Ministry’s Spaghetti Lunch and Basket Raffle raised $7,000. All the money raised goes to the Student Ministry and helps them pay for camp this summer. Individuals and Life Teams donated baskets for the raffle, which contained gift cards, summer fun, date night and game night items, photo sessions, nerf guns, candy, popcorn, and so much…

Giving Gifts And Connecting Families

Over the past several years, we have partnered with Prison Fellowship Angel Tree for Dollar Days during December. The money we receive from Dollar Days buys gifts for children of incarcerated parents in our community. With help from CrossRidge members, gifts are bought, wrapped, and delivered. Each gift is marked with the child’s name and includes a note from their parent. Deliveries are scheduled, and volunteers hand deliver the gifts to the families. As much as the children receive a…

The Best Worst Sweater Time of the Year

Not long ago, dressing in an ugly sweater would get you banned by your friends at the next Christmas Party. Times have changed, and if you don’t have at least one ugly sweater for Christmas, you might find yourself uninvited for next year’s festivities. Our students held their annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Party this past weekend. From old ugly, sold-in-a-store sweaters to custom-made works of greatness, most students did not disappoint. We’re not sure whose grandma some of these students…

Lakeside Manor Thanksgiving

It is common to spend time and reflect on what we have to be thankful for during Thanksgiving. But it is also a great time to give back. For several years, a group from CrossRidge has been helping out in the community by serving food for Thanksgiving to seniors in our community. This year, Al Gaines, Connections Minister, and Zandi McCarroll of CrossRidge Church took the lead in providing and serving food to the residents at Lakeside Manor on November…

Students Got To Eat, Compete, and Pie Others

If you didn’t make it to this year’s YOUTHSgiving you missed out! Students had an amazing spread of food from turkey, ham, corn casserole, green beans, pies, cinnamon rolls and more. Everybody got as much as they wanted and then some. The adult leaders did a fantastic job of decorating the room. Tables were dressed with thanksgiving theme items. Plates and utensils sat waiting for students to pull up a chair. Tables stood next to each other in a family…

Dollar Days Delivers to Seniors

Dollar Days delivers again with this month’s giving going to Lakeside Manor. Seniors living in the assisted living center were blessed with the money collected for Dollar Days. Some of the items bought and delivered were: A big thank you goes out to Cheryl Fields who shopped for all of the requested items and thank you to all of those who gave to Dollar Days and who helped deliver everything.

Tailgate 2022

CrossRidge showed their support for the Little Elm Lobos on Friday night. We had a great time grilling, hanging out, and handing out the most hot dogs and hamburgers we ever have. We fed students, parents, staff, passer-bys and even some of the opposing team. A fun night was had by all. Our own Coby McCormick was on live feed on the Little Elm ISD Facebook site. In case you missed it here it is. Thank you to all of…

M3 Student Summer Camp

What a great time we had attending M3 Camp at Highland Lakes in Spicewood, TX. Our 10 brave leaders took 40 teenagers to camp and loved every minute of it. Friendships were made and relationships were built.  Belly laughs were had, sweat dripped, students cheered, and little sleep was gotten. We saw students make public statements of faith that they feel called to pastoral and mission ministries, but best of all were the students whose lives were changed forever when…

Shoeboxes Delivered

Thanks to the generosity of our members, we collected and delivered 233 Samaritan Purse Operation Christmas Child boxes to Disciples of Christ Bible Church on November 17. Your support and willingness to give bless not only those that receive these shoeboxes but also those that help collect and deliver them. It is always a blessing to show up with vehicles packed from door to door. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Our mission…

Giving to LEFD

Thanks to Dollar Days, volunteers, and especially Cheryl Fields (for all the shopping), we were able to bless the fire department with goods they can use to stock their pantries.

Backpack Drive

What’s better than giving out backpacks to kids? Giving out backpacks full of school supplies to kids. Each year we donate backpacks and school supplies to LEISD. This year we set the bar high at wanting to pack and give out 70 backpacks. CrossRidge responded by not only meeting that goal but by going above and beyond. We gave out 76 backpacks to kids at the LEISD Back to School Bash. Utilizing money given to Dollar Days and donations from…

School Supplies and The Smell Of Fresh Crayons

Do you remember the days when you were a kid and you opened up that brand new box of 8 or 16 crayons? You knew it was a special day when you flipped open the delicate tab and saw the small, shining points of never used round objects made of colored wax. With eyes wide open and pupils dilated, you would reach in the colorful box and pull one out only to be enchanted by the smell of fresh cardboard…

Great to be Back!

What an awesome night we had with our students this past Wednesday. Over 70 students and over 20 adult leaders showed up to our first student event since March 11. What a blessing it was to see so many familiar faces and to see new faces as well. Well, not faces exactly. Everybody was wearing masks and social distancing but at least we got to see everyone after being apart for so long. Usually, by now, we have had an…
