Giving Gifts And Connecting Families

Giving Gifts And Connecting Families

Over the past several years, we have partnered with Prison Fellowship Angel Tree for Dollar Days during December. The money we receive from Dollar Days buys gifts for children of incarcerated parents in our community. With help from CrossRidge members, gifts are bought, wrapped, and delivered. Each gift is marked with the child’s name and includes a note from their parent. Deliveries are scheduled, and volunteers hand deliver the gifts to the families.

As much as the children receive a blessing, the volunteers receive a blessing as well. Upon delivery, they see smiles stretch wide as each child receives their gifts. Excitement and gratitude fill the room, and many thanks and hugs are passed around.

This December broke a record. We received a total of $3,280 in donations. The highest amount we have received for any dollar day!

With tips and suggestions for gifts from the caretakers, CrossRidge members proceeded to local stores to buy the gifts. Once bought, a team wrapped and labeled each present and grouped them by families. Our delivery volunteers then took the gifts and dropped them off at the designated time.

Our church family blessed 10 Families and 18 children.
