2025 Lesotho Mission Trip Report
April 30 – May 10, 2025

From the very first minute of our trip, God showed up. He reminded us once again that He is in every detail and that He is faithful. The journey began with torrential Texas rain, flight delays, and even being told by a gate agent that making our connection was hopeless. Yet, by God’s provision, we secured the last three standby seats and made it to South Africa, delayed luggage and all. Whether it was an exercise in trust, a reminder to pray without ceasing (thank you, Ginger!), or simply another chance to rely on Him, God worked it out perfectly. We didn’t lose a single minute of ministry time in Lesotho.
Ministry in Maseru
We arrived in Lesotho just in time for Day 1 with the young adults. After heartfelt acapella worship, Coby taught on the Parable of the Sower with the help of Ntate Seferi translating into Sesotho. Daniel followed the next day, teaching on the Fruits of the Spirit and building quick bonds with the Basotho students. The Spirit was present, barriers dropped, and hearts were open.
We also shared breakfast with four young men, Thabiso, Teboho, Ndobe, and Thumisang, who have become part of Jake and Ginger Goss’s extended family. Each has a powerful testimony of God’s grace. Sitting with them, hearing their stories, and seeing their commitment to live for Christ was deeply humbling. These are future leaders for Maseru and the mountain villages.
As is tradition, our team received Sesotho names:
- Coby became Ntate Tumelo (Faith)
- Daniel became Aubutti Lereko (Grace)
- Brett kept his name from last year, Ntate Tsepo (Hope)

Into the Mountains
From Maseru, we headed into the mountains with Bibles, reading glasses, and sack lunches ready to serve. Before leaving, God blessed us again: one of the young men from the weekend sent word that he had decided to give his life to Christ. Another brother added to eternity!
In Ha Mpusi, where the acting chief is a believer, we worshiped and shared Scripture with women and children. The joy on their faces when they could finally read God’s Word clearly with new glasses is unforgettable.
Over the next days, we ministered in five villages including Ha Tsholo, Lerapong, Ha Rapokalane, and a brand-new village known as Soto. We hiked muddy roads, crossed rivers, and shared the Gospel hut to hut. Daniel preached with a mountain valley as his backdrop. Coby encouraged young men who had memorized verses to earn their own Bibles. Children laughed as we acted out David and Goliath (with Daniel on Coby’s shoulders as the giant!). Each stop was filled with worship, teaching, prayer, and testimony.

Seeds of the Gospel
One of the most moving moments came when two shepherds proudly recited memory verses they had learned from the week before, proof that the Word is spreading. Village chiefs welcomed us, communities gathered, and lives were touched. The groundwork has been laid for more ministry, more discipleship, and more fruit.
Reflection
It all passed too quickly. As we left, we were humbled once again that God would allow us to play even a small role in His work. We return home thankful for Jake, Ginger, Timber, Ntate Seferi, Ndobe, and so many others who faithfully serve every day in Lesotho.
We continue to pray for the people of Maseru, Ha Mpusi, Ha Tsholo, Lerapong, Ha Rapokalane, Soto, and beyond, that the seeds planted would grow, and that many more Basotho would find eternal life in Jesus Christ.
Until next time, Lesotho… God is faithful.
