Preteen Camp Recap
We took 63 children and adult leaders to camp last week. 63 people from CrossRidge Church had the privilege of spending time in God’s beautiful creation at Camp Copass. There was fishing, canoeing, crafting, cooking, and swimming, just to name a few activities. There was daily Bible study and time of worship each night as we focused on John 3:16 that says, “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will…

Student Camp Recap
What do you get when you combine the best people you know with the worst food you’ve ever had? A week at church camp, of course! This past week CrossRidge sent 33 students and 7 adults (considering they volunteer for the youth group, I’m using the word “adult” loosely here) off to FUGE Camp in Pineville, Louisiana to learn more about their Creator and serve the local community. One thing that really separates this particular church camp from other camps…

Love and Teach Jesus
We had five families that dedicated their little ones to the Lord last Sunday. They stood and told us that they wanted to raise their sweet children God’s way. In today’s world, that is not an easy task. The good news is that we, as their church family, get to join them on this wonderful journey. We get the privilege to love on them and teach them about Jesus. “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of…
Family God’s Way
Happy Father’s Day to all the father figures out there. You may be a biological father to a child. You may be a stepfather to a child. You may be an adoptive father to a child. You may be a father-in-law to someone. You may be an involved fatherly figure in the life of a child. You may be a grandfather involved in the raising of children. Or you may not be a father at all. This day is wonderful…
Are You Just Coasting By?
It is almost the middle of June already. Summer is just coasting by. What about you, are you just coasting by? What does this time of year look like for you? Do you slow down a bit and enjoy the lazy days of summer? Do you see it as an opportunity to play more with the kids or even travel more? Or do you see it as a time to evaluate how your year is going and making sure you…
Words Of Encouragement
Faith Builders, here are a few words of encouragement for your summer! S Spend time each day with Jesus in prayer and scripture. U Understand that it is ok to say no sometimes, we can’t do everything. M Make memories with your spouse and children, go on adventures. M Messes are ok when we are learning or having fun. E Everything gets done quicker when we all work together, the work is lighter when we all help. R Rest, relax,…
Happy Father’s Day
Happy Father’s Day! It’s your day to shine, dads! We salute you for being the spiritual leader of your family. We applaud you for following Ephesians 6:4 that says, “Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Thank you for parenting the way God has called you to. Thank you for allowing us to walk alongside of you on this parenting journey. Here is a shout out to all the…
Time Is Short, Eternity Is At Stake
26% of Gen X and 16% of millennials believe that when they die, they will go to Heaven only because they confessed their sins and accepted Jesus as their Savior. 33% of millennials either don’t know, don’t care, or don’t believe that God exists. 65% of teens and adults agree that many religions can lead to eternal life. 31% of teens and young adults strongly agree that what is morally right and wrong changes over time, based on society. *…
Teach Your Children To Be Givers
Are you teaching your children to be givers? Do you model a life of giving? Do your children see you holding your time, talents and treasures loosely so you can give quickly when opportunity arises? Do you help your children understand that everything that comes our way is a gift from God? We get to decide what to do with it, too. One part of our giving is to the Lord. As we give our tithe to the church, we…
Prioritizing Church
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6 Is it just me, or does it seem like things are getting crazier in life? Is it just me, or is the world trying to teach our children things that the Bible clearly speaks against? Is it just me, or is the urgency to teach this generation about Jesus not there? I want our kids to love others.…
School’s Out For Summer
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a real blessing.” Psalm 127:3 School’s out for summer! Thank you, Jesus. Summer break can bring slower paced mornings. Summer can bring pajama days. Summer can also bring sibling fights. Summer can bring, “I’m bored. There’s nothing to do!” I want to encourage you to be intentional with your summer. Having some goals or objectives can help your summer be kinder and less scattered. I am not suggesting that you plan each day…
Pray for your children
This past week has been full of graduations, preschool and high school. Another reminder of how fast time keeps going by. Another reminder of how fast our children are growing up. Another reminder that it is never too early, or too late, to pray over our children. Philippians 4:6 is a good reminder to pray as well. It says, “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Purpose – Pray…
Summer Discipleship
Do you know anyone who seems to know Jesus so well, that you wonder how that happened or if you might could ever know Him in that same manner? There are people in our lives that we look up to and hope to grow up to be spiritually mature like them. Well, I have some news, a true fact, “No one gets close to Jesus on accident.” If you want to come to know Jesus in a very real way,…
Summertime Is Just Around The Corner
Here we are in May already. Time for another school year to wind down and end. I clearly remember those last weeks of school when my kids were younger. It doesn’t matter if you have a preschooler, elementary student, middle schooler, or high schooler, this can be a crazy and busy time of year. There are class parties, STAAR testing, award ceremonies, band concerts, graduations, and there are still lunches to be made and clothes to be washed. There are…
Finish Strong
My friends, are you counting down the days that are left of school? Do you have a paper chain showing how many more crazy mornings are left until summer? Do you dream of mornings with no rushing around looking for forms that are due? Have the lunches you pack come down to chips and fruit snacks? Do you long for mornings where the pace is slower, and the words are kinder? You are almost there! Let me take a minute…
Praise For Moms
Mother’s Day is Sunday and what a blessing it is to remember and honor our mothers. Some of us are mothers, some of us still have our mothers, some of us have mother figures we look up to. We see you. You are making tiny disciples in your home and it can be overwhelming at times! Here is a tiny glimpse of what we see you doing and being as you parent your children. We love you. We give thanks…
Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day! Being a mom is one of the hardest jobs. Being a mom is also one of the most rewarding jobs. Proverbs 31:28-29 says, “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also praises her: ‘Many women have done noble deeds, but you surpass them all!’” Wouldn’t it be nice if our little ones truly called us blessed instead of just calling our name 100 times a day? How good would it feel if our husbands…
It Can All Start With The Ten Commandments
This week’s online Sunday School lesson is on the Ten Commandments. God gave us these ten rules to keep us safe and help us to live lives that point to God and His holiness. Are they easy? Not always. They are not easy for us grownups or our children. Being familiar with the things that matter to God is important for us parents, so we can better live them out and model them to our children. Living God’s way and…
Show Your Appreciation
Can you believe that another school year is coming to an end? It seems like this year has gone by so fast. It is the time of the year when everyone shows appreciation for their children’s teachers, also known as Teacher Appreciation Week. School teachers have such an important job educating our children. They are shaping our future. Whether you are homeschooling or sending your child to school in person, one thing this past year has taught us, is the…
Don’t Miss Out – Time Is Passing!
Time passes quickly when you are having a good time. We have been experiencing good times for sure since we are able to meet in person and on campus again for worship and children’s activities. It is so very good to see your faces and to be able to teach our littles about the love of God! We have also been signing up our children for Mini Camp and Preteen Camp. We really need to get everyone signed up as…
Responding To The Storms In Life
April showers bring May flowers, or so the saying goes. There is also, rain, rain go away, come again another day. Sometimes the rain is downright annoying. It messes up outdoor plans. It makes our yards muddy. It ruins the look of a freshly washed car. I do know that a good rain always makes my yard greener. I know that a rainbow after a storm always takes my breath away. I know that seeing the sun after several days of…
Giving Thanks For Our Food
Parents, as we make disciples in our homes and model what living a life that blesses God looks like, we should be giving thanks for our food. Many people do not gather around the traditional family dinner table anymore. Whether you do, or you do not, I want to encourage you to say a prayer of thanksgiving with your children before they eat. Train them up in the Lord. Train them to live a life of thanksgiving unto God. Jesus…
