Prioritizing Church

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it”

Proverbs 22:6

Is it just me, or does it seem like things are getting crazier in life? Is it just me, or is the world trying to teach our children things that the Bible clearly speaks against? Is it just me, or is the urgency to teach this generation about Jesus not there?

I want our kids to love others. I want our kids to serve those around them. I want our kids to push each other in the right direction. I want our kids to hide God’s word in their hearts. I want our kids to know Jesus. It all seems so simple, but the world offers so many things that distract us and take our eyes off Jesus.

I am so thankful that you are the faith builder in your home and that you want your children to know Jesus. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it”, but let’s be real, training up a child in the way they should go is not always an easy task.

Fortunately, I have good news! You do not have to do this alone.  Psalm 78:4 tells us, “We will not hide but will tell a future generation the praiseworthy acts of the Lord, his might, and the wondrous works he has performed.” We, the church, are here to tell your children about the Lord and all the praiseworthy things He has done. We want your children to know His might and the wondrous works He has performed, but more than that we want your children to really know the Lord. More than anything, we want your children to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Isn’t that what you want too? As summer approaches with all the fun activities that come along with it, I want to challenge you to bring your children to church. Let us walk with you to train up your child.

It doesn’t matter if you have an infant, a preschooler, an older child, or a high schooler, they all need Jesus. They all need like-minded friends surrounding them to do life with, and let’s be honest, we adults need that too. So, what are you waiting for? Plan that slumber party for Friday night instead of Saturday night. Schedule that birthday party for after church. Set those Sunday morning alarms. We look forward to seeing you at CrossRidge Church each Sunday morning.
