True Love

February is the month where you hear so much about the heart and about love. Supposedly there are many types of love if you look it up on the internet. As believers we know there is only one true love. True love died on a cross for you and me. True love wants us to believe in Him and have a relationship with Him. True love wants to spend eternity with us. True love can be found in John 3:16.…

Not of Fear But One of Love and Sound Judgement

Over 100 men attended this year’s No Fear Men’s Conference. From Friday night to Saturday afternoon, men heard from Pastor Marc how “God has not given [them] a spirit of fear, but one of love and sound judgment.” He spoke about how God has equipped us to be fearless, courageous warriors for Jesus! How their wives, children, families, friends, and all those around them need them to live by faith, not fear. During the three sessions, time was taken out…

Noodles and Baskets

That’s amore! The people of CrossRidge Church showed up and hugely supported the student ministry and broke all previous records in the process. The Student Ministry’s Spaghetti Lunch and Basket Raffle raised $7,000. All the money raised goes to the Student Ministry and helps them pay for camp this summer. Individuals and Life Teams donated baskets for the raffle, which contained gift cards, summer fun, date night and game night items, photo sessions, nerf guns, candy, popcorn, and so much…

It Is Time

Now a man from the family of Levi married a Levite woman. The woman became pregnant and gave birth to a son; when she saw that he was beautiful, she hid him for three months. But when she could no longer hide him, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with asphalt and pitch. She placed the child in it and set it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile. Then his sister stood at a distance in order to…

Salsa Sunday Success

We see your Taco Tuesday and raise you a Salsa Sunday. If we learned anything on February 5, we learned that people at CrossRidge are serious about salsa. From spicy to savory, 38 salsas battled it out for the glory of being crowned Best Salsa in one of three categories: red salsa, green salsa, or best overall salsa. The first annual Salsa Sunday was nearly full to bursting with more than 250 people dining and fellowshipping in our Kids Church…

Do Not Be Afraid

Recently our children learned from the book of Matthew about Jesus walking on water. They will hear about the wind and the waves of the sea. They will hear about the disciples being afraid. They will hear about Peter’s desire to walk on water and they will hear of Peter’s fear of the storm. They will hear of his cries for help from Jesus. They will also hear Matthew 14:27 that says, “Immediately Jesus spoke to them. ‘Have courage! It…

Living Differently in 2023 and Beyond

We are in the “New Year Resolutions” season, and according to Webster’s Dictionary, a new year resolution is a promise to do something DIFFERENT in the new year. Every year, many US citizens set out to live differently by committing to improve their life circumstances to achieve happiness. Their resolutions focus on improving health and fitness circumstances, financial circumstances, career circumstances, traveling circumstances, and for some, their addiction circumstances. Though the focuses are all different, they each have something in…

Happy New Year

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole empire should be registered. This first registration took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So, everyone went to be registered, each to his own town. Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family line of David,  to be registered along with Mary, who was engaged to him and was pregnant. While they were there, the time…

Giving Gifts And Connecting Families

Over the past several years, we have partnered with Prison Fellowship Angel Tree for Dollar Days during December. The money we receive from Dollar Days buys gifts for children of incarcerated parents in our community. With help from CrossRidge members, gifts are bought, wrapped, and delivered. Each gift is marked with the child’s name and includes a note from their parent. Deliveries are scheduled, and volunteers hand deliver the gifts to the families. As much as the children receive a…

The Best Worst Sweater Time of the Year

Not long ago, dressing in an ugly sweater would get you banned by your friends at the next Christmas Party. Times have changed, and if you don’t have at least one ugly sweater for Christmas, you might find yourself uninvited for next year’s festivities. Our students held their annual Ugly Sweater Christmas Party this past weekend. From old ugly, sold-in-a-store sweaters to custom-made works of greatness, most students did not disappoint. We’re not sure whose grandma some of these students…

Happy Birthday Jesus

Birthdays are so fun to celebrate! You are invited to bring your children to the best birthday party ever. Come and join us this Sunday, December 18th, as we have a birthday party for Jesus at 10:45am. There will be cake! There will be fun games! There will be goodie bags! Did I mention that there will be cake? Those things are great, but what makes this the best birthday party ever is that it is for King Jesus. Bring…

Giving To Others

Is it just me, or did December arrive overnight? There is something special about December though. The world would have you believe this time of year is for shopping, decorating, eating, and receiving that perfect gift, but we have already received the perfect gift. God loved us so much that He sent His one and only son to come to earth and be born as a baby. God sent His son to save us from our sins so that we…

Lakeside Manor Thanksgiving

It is common to spend time and reflect on what we have to be thankful for during Thanksgiving. But it is also a great time to give back. For several years, a group from CrossRidge has been helping out in the community by serving food for Thanksgiving to seniors in our community. This year, Al Gaines, Connections Minister, and Zandi McCarroll of CrossRidge Church took the lead in providing and serving food to the residents at Lakeside Manor on November…

I Am Thankful

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever.” Can you believe that Thanksgiving is here already? Do you have any Thanksgiving traditions in your family? Do you eat the same foods every year? Do you watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? Do you go around the table and share what you are thankful for? Students Got To Eat, Compete, and Pie Others

If you didn’t make it to this year’s YOUTHSgiving you missed out! Students had an amazing spread of food from turkey, ham, corn casserole, green beans, pies, cinnamon rolls and more. Everybody got as much as they wanted and then some. The adult leaders did a fantastic job of decorating the room. Tables were dressed with thanksgiving theme items. Plates and utensils sat waiting for students to pull up a chair. Tables stood next to each other in a family…
