The Power Of Our Words

Our words have power. They can build others up, and they can tear people down. There are many Bible verses that warn us about the dangers of our words. Ephesians 4:29-30 says, “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day…

Boundaries

bound·a·ry /ˈbound(ə)rē/ noun plural noun: boundaries a line that marks the limits of an area; a dividing line. Have you set boundaries in your life? What kind of invisible lines have you created in your marriage, your friendships, your parenting and even in your personal life? We all need boundaries in our lives, but how do we set them? How do we keep them in place? Mark your calendars for November 19-20 and join us for our Women’s Conference at…

You Are His Masterpiece

I have so many pumpkins around my house right now. When my kids were little, we would carve and decorate pumpkins. They would take turns spooning out the inside so the pumpkins could be turned into something new and creative. They were always so excited when it was time to put a candle in and admire their masterpiece. You have been called to be the Faith Builder in your home. While it is not always an easy task, it is…

Nutrition For The Soul

What is better than Juicy Fruit gum? A sermon series called Juicy Fruit! Join us each Sunday as Pastor Marc continues to walk through the book of Galatians and focus on the fruit of the Spirit.  As parents, it is important to pay attention to the nutrition and diet of your children for their good health.  As the faith builder in your home, it is important to pay attention to Galatians 5:22-23 for their spiritual health. It says, “But the fruit…

God Knows Every Detail

My favorite Bible verse is Luke 12:7. It says, “Indeed, the hairs of your head are all counted. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” If you could see my bathroom floor, you would know that the number of hairs on my head changes daily. My mind is blown just thinking that God knows me that well, that He loves me that much, and He cares that deeply. He knows every detail about me and loves me lavishly anyway.…

Freedom In Christ

It’s still October and I am still in love with all things Fall. I love drinking coffee outside on the cooler mornings. I love baking breads and muffins this time of year. I love watching football every Saturday afternoon, and please, give me all of the soup. The best part about all of these things is that they are easy to share! Pastor Marc is knee deep in Galatians on Sunday mornings. This past Sunday he preached on how our…

Welcome To October

Welcome to October. There are so many things to look forward to this month. The weather finally starts to get cooler. There is plenty of football to watch. There is pumpkin everything available. As the year starts to wind down, it is also a good time for reflection. How are you doing? What are your priorities in life? What are you thinking about on a daily basis? Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is…

Fall For Jesus, He Never Leaves

Happy Fall. I love when September rolls around and Summer turns into Fall. I love when the weather and the trees start to change. I love that Fall is just another reminder of how much Jesus loves us. While things may be changing outside this time of year, one thing that never changes is Jesus. Through all of our ups and downs of life, He is there. Through all of our trials and temptations, He gives us strength. Through all…

Look Into The Scriptures Daily

Have you ever heard the saying, “You can’t pour from an empty cup”? Have you ever thought about what it truly means? As parents there is so much that has to be done each day. There are so many people depending on you each day. There are some days when there are just not enough hours to get everything done. Hopefully, on those busy days you stop and take time to feed your body. Food and drink are important to…

Preteen Camp Recap

We took 63 children and adult leaders to camp last week. 63 people from CrossRidge Church had the privilege of spending time in God’s beautiful creation at Camp Copass. There was fishing, canoeing, crafting, cooking, and swimming, just to name a few activities. There was daily Bible study and time of worship each night as we focused on John 3:16 that says, “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will…

Love and Teach Jesus

We had five families that dedicated their little ones to the Lord last Sunday. They stood and told us that they wanted to raise their sweet children God’s way. In today’s world, that is not an easy task. The good news is that we, as their church family, get to join them on this wonderful journey. We get the privilege to love on them and teach them about Jesus.  “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of…

Are You Just Coasting By?

It is almost the middle of June already. Summer is just coasting by. What about you, are you just coasting by? What does this time of year look like for you? Do you slow down a bit and enjoy the lazy days of summer? Do you see it as an opportunity to play more with the kids or even travel more? Or do you see it as a time to evaluate how your year is going and making sure you…

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day! It’s your day to shine, dads! We salute you for being the spiritual leader of your family. We applaud you for following Ephesians 6:4 that says, “Fathers, don’t stir up anger in your children, but bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Thank you for parenting the way God has called you to. Thank you for allowing us to walk alongside of you on this parenting journey. Here is a shout out to all the…

Time Is Short, Eternity Is At Stake

26% of Gen X and 16% of millennials believe that when they die, they will go to Heaven only because they confessed their sins and accepted Jesus as their Savior. 33% of millennials either don’t know, don’t care, or don’t believe that God exists. 65% of teens and adults agree that many religions can lead to eternal life. 31% of teens and young adults strongly agree that what is morally right and wrong changes over time, based on society. *…

Prioritizing Church

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6 Is it just me, or does it seem like things are getting crazier in life? Is it just me, or is the world trying to teach our children things that the Bible clearly speaks against? Is it just me, or is the urgency to teach this generation about Jesus not there? I want our kids to love others.…

Pray for your children

This past week has been full of graduations, preschool and high school. Another reminder of how fast time keeps going by. Another reminder of how fast our children are growing up. Another reminder that it is never too early, or too late, to pray over our children. Philippians 4:6 is a good reminder to pray as well. It says, “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Purpose – Pray…

Summertime Is Just Around The Corner

Here we are in May already. Time for another school year to wind down and end. I clearly remember those last weeks of school when my kids were younger. It doesn’t matter if you have a preschooler, elementary student, middle schooler, or high schooler, this can be a crazy and busy time of year. There are class parties, STAAR testing, award ceremonies, band concerts, graduations, and there are still lunches to be made and clothes to be washed. There are…

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day! Being a mom is one of the hardest jobs. Being a mom is also one of the most rewarding jobs. Proverbs 31:28-29 says, “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also praises her: ‘Many women have done noble deeds, but you surpass them all!’” Wouldn’t it be nice if our little ones truly called us blessed instead of just calling our name 100 times a day? How good would it feel if our husbands…

Show Your Appreciation

Can you believe that another school year is coming to an end? It seems like this year has gone by so fast. It is the time of the year when everyone shows appreciation for their children’s teachers, also known as Teacher Appreciation Week. School teachers have such an important job educating our children. They are shaping our future. Whether you are homeschooling or sending your child to school in person, one thing this past year has taught us, is the…

Responding To The Storms In Life

April showers bring May flowers, or so the saying goes. There is also, rain, rain go away, come again another day.  Sometimes the rain is downright annoying. It messes up outdoor plans. It makes our yards muddy. It ruins the look of a freshly washed car. I do know that a good rain always makes my yard greener. I know that a rainbow after a storm always takes my breath away. I know that seeing the sun after several days of…
