Look Into The Scriptures Daily

Look Into The Scriptures Daily

Have you ever heard the saying, “You can’t pour from an empty cup”? Have you ever thought about what it truly means? As parents there is so much that has to be done each day. There are so many people depending on you each day. There are some days when there are just not enough hours to get everything done. Hopefully, on those busy days you stop and take time to feed your body. Food and drink are important to keep us fueled, but Matthew 4:4 says, But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” As faith builders in your home, the best way to start your day is spending time with God. This week’s lesson for your children is about how the Bereans learned from Paul. They get to learn how these people from Berea listened to Paul and Silas and then looked in the scriptures daily. What a great lesson for all of us. The best way to start your week is being with God’s people and listening to Pastor Marc preach God’s word, but that is not enough. We need to mimic the Bereans and look into the scriptures daily. We need to seek God’s wisdom each day to help us go about our day. We need to feed our hearts and minds too, so we are prepared for all that those busy days hold for us.

Psalm 119:105 tells us, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” God’s word is like our walking papers for the day. God’s word is what is going to help you on those busy days when you don’t know how to get it all done. God’s word is what is going to fill you up so you can pour out to others.
