Nothing Is Impossible With God

Nothing Is Impossible With God

This week’s lesson for our children is God chose Mary and Joseph. Luke 1:30-31 says, “And the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.’” Can you even imagine what Mary’s reaction was? She had to have questions. She had to have doubts and fears. What an enormous task that God was calling her to face.

Did she run away? Did she ignore the angel? Did she tell God no way? No, she didn’t. Luke goes on to tell us in verse 38, “And Mary said, ‘Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.’ And the angel departed from her.” Wow! What an example Mary is for all of us!

What is God calling you to do this Christmas season? What hard thing has God placed in front of you to handle? Is there an enormous task that is causing you to have doubts and fears? Christmastime is a great time to remember that with God, we can do the hard things He is calling us to do. With God, we can face the enormous tasks. The angel told Mary that nothing will be impossible with God, and the same holds true for you. Nothing for you will be impossible with God.

As you celebrate the birth of Jesus this month, be sure that you share the whole Christmas story with them. Let them know about Mary and Joseph and what God called them to do. Let them know about the angel that told them not to fear. Let them know about Jesus and what His birth means to all of us. As the Faith Builder in your home, what a wonderful thing to teach your children. They need to know that nothing is impossible with God too.
