Put Love Into Action

Put Love Into Action

I have really enjoyed the sermon series that Pastor Marc has been walking us through. He has been focusing on Matthew 7:12 for a few weeks now. It tells us, “Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” This is such a great lesson for us as adults to learn and put into action each day. It is also a very important lesson for us to teach our children. We live in a world today that doesn’t always think of others first. We need to teach our children to do for others before the world teaches them that it is ok not to. Fortunately, we have two opportunities here at CrossRidge Church going on now that you can participate in and show your children how to love on others.

Our October Dollar Day Offering is being used to purchase coats for local elementary-aged children who are needing help. We are also asking you to join us in loving on these children in Little Elm by purchasing a new coat to donate. They are in need of coats for boys and girls in size 4-14. There is a large box in the foyer where you can drop your coat off for the next two Sundays.

Another opportunity for you to do unto others is by picking up a shoebox here at the church and participating in Operation Christmas Child. This would be the perfect chance for you to teach your child about doing for others. Let them learn early about the excitement that comes with giving to those in need. Let them learn early how fortunate they are to have the things they have. Let them learn early that God calls us to help and love others. Will you join me in putting love into action? Will you pray about what this might look like for your family? Please return your shoeboxes by Sunday, November 15th. I’m excited to watch the love of Christ at work in our church!
