Where Is Your Urgency?
Ur-gen-cy noun 1. importance requiring swift action. Where is the urgency in your life? As the Faith Builder in your home, you should be living with a sense of urgency. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Are your children a “whoever”? Have your children accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior? If not, where is your urgency in making sure that your children know…

Follow The Leader
Did you enjoy playing the game follow the leader when you were a child? Following the leader as an adult is a whole new game. I don’t know about you, but I am pretty excited about our new sermon series. I loved hearing about Joshua and the journey to get to the Promised Land. I love the instruction, hope and encouragement that we get from God’s stories. I loved being reminded of how faithful God is to fulfill His promises.…

An Attitude Of Gratitude
It’s Fall y’all. It’s even starting to feel like it outside. As we gear up for the approaching holidays, I think the beginning of Fall is a great time to check our attitudes. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Here are a few activities you can do with your children to help there be an attitude of gratitude in your…

Spicy Showdown: Annual Chili Cook-Off Success
So far, October may feel more like July, but that didn’t stop us from getting into the fall spirit with what is arguably the season’s best food. Onions, chili powder, cumin, (beans?), juicy ground chuck! That’s right. Last weekend was the annual Chili Cook-off here at Crossridge, and those who competed certainly brought the heat. The smack talk surrounding the contest was as spicy as some of the pots of chili. Though, since Pastor John Wolfe recused himself from competing,…
Better Together
CrossRidge Church just finished our sermon series through the book of Titus. We learned just how much better we are together. We learned how important it is to do church the right way. We also learned about the importance of doing good works. Learning is great, but putting what we learned into action is even better. Paul emphasized good works in the book of Titus. Titus 3:14 says, “And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so…
Delivering Slices of Love for LEISD
September Dollar Days was a special one! We love getting to bless the teachers and all those who pour so much into the lives of the kids in our town. This month, we showed our appreciation for teachers, administrators, and other staff for Little Elm ISD by bringing lunch to all the local schools, administration buildings, and even local charter school North Texas Collegiate Academy. The numbers we delivered this month were BIG. A total giving of $1,812, 293 pizzas,…

September
This year is flying by. There is still time left to get things done the last four months of the year. Let’s not just do them though, let’s do them well. Let’s do them as Colossians 3:23-24 tells us to, “Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ.” Let’s take this opportunity…

Be There or Be Square
A week. 7 days. 168 hours. 604,800 seconds. That’s a long time to go from Sunday to Sunday and being in God’s house together. I don’t know how I even make it some weeks! Fortunately, that is about to change. That’s right, our Fall semester is right around the corner. Mark those calendars and clear those schedules because starting September 6th we will get to be together in God’s house with God’s people during the week. Our Fall semester will run…
Serving Those Who Protect and Serve Us
One of our favorite ways to shine the light of Jesus to our community is through our Dollar Days ministry. This August, the spotlight was on our local police departments in Little Elm and Oak Point—the everyday heroes who ensure our safety. Breaking previous records, the August Dollar Days initiative raised over $1800! This generous amount, collected on the first Sunday of August, allowed us to truly bless the 89 sworn police officers and nine support staff of Little Elm…

Let’s Do This
Back to school! Back to school! The Summer seemed to fly by and now it is time for the kids to start a new school year. There are some that are happy about that and some that are not. There are new school supplies and new school clothes. There are new teachers and new classrooms. There are new schedules and new friends. A new school year can bring about a lot of change and that can be overwhelming sometimes. Instead…

There Is Still Work To Be Done
Summer Camp! A week where memories are made and lives are changed. We took 52 children and adults to Camp Copass last month. We also had 19 TREK leaders there from CrossRidge Church leading activities. We had temperatures over 100 every single day. We sweated, we swam, we fished, we made crafts and we played games. We had so much fun at the carnival, we ate a lot of candy and snacks, we stayed up late and we watched fireworks.…
Back to School Supplies
Because of your gifts to Dollar Days and donations throughout July, we delivered 60 packed backpacks to Little Elm ISD. That’s a ton of backpacks. Okay, maybe not a literal ton, but it was enough backpacks to fill the bed of a truck and then some. Money from Dollar Days paid for the backpacks, while donations from church members were used to fill each one. Volunteers came up the night before the delivery to pack all the backpacks. They packed…

Mountains, Water, and Smelly Rooms
Another student camp is in the books. This year we took 58 people of which 45 were kids and 13 were adults, to Glorieta, New Mexico. Glorieta sits in the southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The mountains usually provide a great getaway from the Texas heat that all Texans are far too familiar with. This year, the weather was a little warmer than normal during the day but the nights were fantastic and it was definitely not as hot as Little…
What A Week At Camp Copass
What a week we had at Camp Copass. We stayed up way too late, we made new friends, we belly-laughed, we swam, we watched fireworks and we sweated a lot. We worshipped, we prayed and we learned about Jesus. We are home now washing clothes, showering and probably taking a nap. If you see someone wearing a camp shirt on Sunday, be sure to ask them how their week was and then come back next week to read a full…
A Stellar Week
What a spectacular and stellar week of Vacation Bible School we had. There were countless hours of preparation that went into this event. There were too many memories and new friendships made to even count. Many hours of sleep were lost. Heaps and piles of food was donated to the Little Elm Food Bank and endless snacks were devoured throughout the week. There were also over 2000 water balloons used during recreation time. There were 17 crews of kids going…
