An Attitude Of Gratitude

An Attitude Of Gratitude

It’s Fall y’all. It’s even starting to feel like it outside. As we gear up for the approaching holidays, I think the beginning of Fall is a great time to check our attitudes. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Here are a few activities you can do with your children to help there be an attitude of gratitude in your home.

  1. Make a thankful pumpkin. Grab a sharpie and a pumpkin and let everyone write down one thing they are thankful for each day.
  2. Make get well cards and send them to someone who is sick. Remind your family to be thankful for good health and our bodies that God created.
  3. Call a friend or family member and let them know how thankful you are for them.
  4. Read your Bible and come to church as a family. Keep in mind those that do not have the freedom to do that openly.
  5. Pray. Thank God for all that He provides. Pray even when you don’t feel thankful. He can answer that prayer too.

God is so good and we have so much to be grateful for. An attitude of gratitude means making it a habit of expressing gratitude and thanksgiving for all things, big and small.
