Do Not Worry

Do Not Worry

This week our little ones learn about how God cares about us. They get to hear about Matthew 6:25 that says, “Therefore, I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing?” What about you? Do you need to be reminded of that too? What worries are you bringing into the new year that you need to hand over to God? This verse is still true for us today. God still wants us to know that we do not have to worry about our lives. He wants us to remember that He cares for us and loves us.

In fact, Jesus tells us multiple times in this passage not to worry. What would this new year look like if we all chose to worship instead of worry? How would things be at home if we handed over all our cares and concerns to God each day? Would your workdays go smoother if you surrendered your workload to God instead of fretting over it? Your relationships? Your health? Your finances? Your parenting? Yes, God wants those concerns too!

Not only does God care for you, but He has also plopped you and your worries right in the middle of His people. As you surrender your concerns to God, remember that you are surrounded by people who care about you too. There is no need to struggle alone. Reach out to those around you. Get plugged into a life team. Find a place of service at church and get to know His people. Life is so much sweeter when we do it with Him and His people.
