January

January

It seems like this year is trying to fly by as fast as last year did. Let’s enjoy January while it is still here.

Just do it. I know that is Nike’s saying, but it is so true. What is God asking you to do that you are afraid to do? Join a Life Team? Find a place of service? Mend a broken relationship? Step up as the Faith Builder in your home? Psalm 56:3 covers that, “When I am afraid, I will trust in you.” Trust God and just do it.

Able. You are able to do so much more than you think you can, but God is able to do even more. Ephesians 3:20-21 says, “Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

New. New year, new me is the phrase we hear so much, but it is not the new year that makes you a new person. 2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!” Now is the perfect time to embrace who you are in Christ.

Unity. The enemy would love for us to live divided, but we are told in Galatians 3:28, “There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female; since you are all one in Christ Jesus.” We are all one in Christ, let’s live that way.

Amazing. Grace that is. How sweet the sound! “For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift—not from works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9. Aren’t you thankful for God’s grace?

Ready. Are you ready for Jesus’ return? We read the importance of being ready in Matthew 24:44, “This is why you are also to be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” What about those around you? Are they ready? Do you need to share Jesus with them?

Yes. Isaiah 6:8 says, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking: Who will I send? Who will go for us? I said: Here I am. Send me.” Are you hesitant to say yes to God? Now is a great time to tell Him yes, here I am.
