Then an expert in the law stood up to test him, saying, ‘Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?’ ‘What is written in the law?’ he asked him. ‘How do you read it?’ He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.’ ‘You’ve answered correctly,’ he told him. ‘Do this and you will live.’ But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, ‘And who is my neighbor?’”
Luke 10:25-29
Who is your neighbor? Do you know? It’s not just the ones in your neighborhood, on the same street or the ones who live right next door. It’s also the ones with the different political views, different skin color and even the ones with different religious beliefs. Everyone is your neighbor. Everyone needs Jesus. Let’s make this the year that we slow down and actually look for and see our neighbors. I pray that as we dive into this new year that we all have eyes and hearts open to see our neighbors. I pray that we are all ready to shine Jesus and show His love to all who God places in our paths.
