The Reason For The Season

The Reason For The Season

Wow! Can you believe it is almost December? I know a lot of people are ready to say goodbye to 2020, but there is still one good thing left about this year. Before you tear that last page off of your calendar, let’s pause and celebrate Christmas. The way we celebrate may be different this year, but the why has not changed. December 25th will be here before we know it and it will be a time to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus … but what about the days leading up to that? It’s so easy to get caught up with the hustle and bustle of the holidays. There’s decorating, shopping, cleaning, cooking and eating to do. There are movies to watch, gifts to wrap and maybe even a party to attend. It’s the busiest time of the year.

I want to encourage you and your family to slow down and truly prepare your hearts for Jesus. He truly is the reason for the season. What a wonderful time to teach your children about Advent, which usually begins four Sundays before Christmas. It is a time of preparation for the coming of Jesus, not only His birth, but His second coming as well. Attached you will find two activities you can use to celebrate Advent with your family. Check them out, print out the one that is the best match for your family and get started on November 29th. I would love to see pictures of your family celebrating and preparing together.

May your family be blessed as you all put Christ at the center of your Christmas. Come let us adore Him!
