Mother’s Day Thoughts

Mother’s Day Thoughts

I want to wish all of the mothers a Happy Mother’s Day! It takes a lot of things to make up a mother. I want to recognize a few of them on this Mother’s Day.

Maid – You may feel that this is your main job: never-ending dishes, laundry, housework, etc.

Official – You establish and enforce the house rules, keep the peace and give timeouts when necessary.

Teacher – This is truer now than ever before: Schoolwork as well as essential life skills.

Home Base – The mother is the home base (central hub) in the family and sets the tone for her whole household.

Encourager – You believe in, pray for, lift up, admonish and praise your children as needed.

Registered Nurse – You take temperatures, clean up throw up, doctor and kiss boo-boos and rush to the ER on occasion for stitches.

Selfless and Strong – You give and give and give some more. God strengthens you each day as you place the needs of your children and family above your own.

Disciple Maker – You model and teach your children how to know, love, follow and obey Jesus Christ.

Administrator – You oversee the finances and dealings of your household. You stretch the money that God entrusts your family with.

Yearn – You yearn and pray for your children to grow up to be responsible, hardworking people with integrity, with a love for God and a love for people.

May God richly bless each of you on this special day. “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her…” Proverbs 31:28
