Happy Resurrection Sunday

Happy Resurrection Sunday

My prayer for you is that this Easter will be more special and meaningful than in years past because so much of what has been added has been stripped away.

Many families are concerned that Easter is going to be different this year. That is certainly true. It has been mentioned that we won’t all have new clothes to wear, our family gatherings and meals won’t look the same, our special Easter services won’t take place in the church building and our Easter family traditions might not happen.

All of these things may indeed be true. But on that first Easter morning, there weren’t any family gatherings or fancy meals, there weren’t any special church services, there weren’t new outfits, and there weren’t things like candy, baskets, and chocolate. Yet, that first Easter morning is the very reason we celebrate Easter. We love and serve a risen, living Savior!

Jesus defeated death and sin on the cross for each of us and rose in victory over death. This enables us to accept God’s gift of salvation and eternal life. Hallelujah! Nothing can stop the celebration of Easter in the lives of believers. My prayer for you is this Easter will be more special and meaningful than in years past because so much of what has been added has been stripped away. Jesus remains. He is enough. Jesus is our Savior and he is victorious and seals us with His Holy Spirit when we believe and accept His free gift. My friends, Happy Resurrection Sunday to each of you. May we glorify Christ with how we celebrate this gift of Easter.
