Helping Others Around The World

Helping Others Around The World

Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

Have you ever read these verses and wished that you could “go to the nations”? I’m happy to share that now you can, even in the middle of a pandemic. We have a wonderful opportunity to join God in His work. Would you pray about joining us?

There is a family from here in Little Elm that has been called to move to Africa and serve the people there. Their names are Jake, Ginger and Timber. Many of you know them. They took the huge step and moved to Africa over a year ago. The people that live in their area are facing a government declared national emergency. A famine, paired with this pandemic, has people of this country literally starving to death. Families don’t have resources to buy food. Some infants are even facing starvation because their nursing mothers don’t get enough nutrition to make milk for their babies.

Now is the time to “Go to the Nations”. Our friends are a part of a Food Project that is able to purchase and distribute food to the hungry in this part of Africa. We want to join them in this endeavor of meeting needs and sharing the good news. It only takes $25 to $30 a month to feed a family of five there. We would like for each family of our congregation to pray about increasing their regular tithes and offerings, now through the end of the year, to help cover the cost of CrossRidge joining Jake and Ginger in this calling.

Proverbs 22:9 says, “The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.” Now is a good time to be generous. Now is a good time to feed others. Now is a good time to serve our King and love others. Will you join me?
