Ur-gen-cy noun 1. importance requiring swift action.
Where is the urgency in your life? As the Faith Builder in your home, you should be living with a sense of urgency. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Are your children a “whoever”? Have your children accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior? If not, where is your urgency in making sure that your children know Jesus?
There is not a date that we can mark on our calendar to know when Jesus will return. In fact, Matthew 24:42-44 tells us, “Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
We know for sure that Jesus is coming back, and we know for sure that we all need Jesus, but we don’t know when, so we must be ready. Your children must be ready as well. We all must live with an urgency of teaching our children about Jesus.
Do your children see you reading your Bible, so they know how important it is to spend time with God daily? Do you pray daily as a family so your children know how important it is to talk to God? Do you talk about God daily and do your children know to love God with all of their heart, soul and might? Are you bringing your children to church each week so that we can join you on this journey? We urgently want to teach your children about Jesus.
