New year, new me! Isn’t that what we hear so often each January? I have said that, failed that and laughed at that many times. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come!” We don’t need a new year to make changes in our lives, we just need Jesus.
After going through this past year, we have no idea what this new year will bring to us, but we do know the One who will bring us through it. As a new year gets started, what are some changes that you and your family can make to draw closer to Jesus? What can you do in 2021 to show the love of Jesus to others? It seems like the holidays and end of year activities can throw our schedules off. The new year is a great time to recommit our schedules to the Lord. The new year is a great time to start a new devotion or Bible reading plan to start each day. The new year is a great time to pick a family Bible verse to learn and focus on during the year. The new year is a great time to pick a friend or family member and commit to praying for them without telling them. The new year is a great time to embrace your role as the faith builder in the home. The new year is a great time to get plugged into a life team.
The possibilities are endless when you stop and think about all of the ways that you can draw closer to Jesus and share Him with those around you. I want to encourage you to jump into the new year with eyes opened wide to see the possibilities! I will be praying for you as you encourage your family to join you. I can’t wait to see what God does in each of our lives this year. I love each of you and look forward to a new year with you!
