Put down that Halloween candy. It’s time to turn the page on the calendar. That’s right, November somehow is already upon us. The stores would have you think that it’s Christmas time already, but November is such a good time to show how thankful we are and to teach our children to be thankful. Psalm 107:1 says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever.” God is good. God is faithful. God’s love is never ending. I can’t think of anything else more worthy of being so thankful for.
Some days are harder than others to show gratitude for all that God has given us. Some days it is downright hard to feel like being thankful. On those days God is still good, and He is still a loving God. On those days God still wants us to be thankful. Will it be easy? Possibly not. Will it be worth it? Absolutely.
Let’s all focus on being more thankful, not just around Thanksgiving, but all year long. Let’s join together and teach our children how to be thankful in all circumstances. Let’s look to God each day to grow us no matter what we are going through. Satan wants to steal our joy, but let’s keep our joy and gratitude going year-round. I bet it will be contagious!
