We took 63 children and adult leaders to camp last week. 63 people from CrossRidge Church had the privilege of spending time in God’s beautiful creation at Camp Copass. There was fishing, canoeing, crafting, cooking, and swimming, just to name a few activities. There was daily Bible study and time of worship each night as we focused on John 3:16 that says, “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
The children learned of God’s love for us, for all of us, and they learned about sharing the one message that everyone needs to hear. With almost 600 campers in attendance, many lives were changed as many children accepted Jesus as the Lord of their lives. It had been two years since we had taken a group to camp, and it showed. These kids were hungry to hear about God and hear about Him with their peers. They were spiritually starved. They were so happy to be together as they laughed, as they had fun, and most importantly as they learned about Jesus.
I am here to continue to encourage you as the faith builders in your home. Keep at it, keep pushing forward. I know it gets hard. I know there is so much to do. I know our kids need Jesus. Summer is coming to an end in a few weeks and school will be back in session. What a wonderful time to recommit to your family’s faith journey. What a wonderful time to get your whole family back to church weekly. You are doing a great job as the faith builders, but we are all better together.
