Just Do Good

There is so much craziness around us in this world. It’s hard to even watch the news some days. The evil out there is quite disturbing sometimes. Do you ever wonder, where is the good in the world?  The answer is, God is the good in the world and He calls us to do the good in this world. Psalm 37:3 says, “Trust in the Lord and do what is good; dwell in the land and live securely.” That’s right,…

Rest And Restoration

It’s beginning to feel like Fall has finally arrived in Texas. I love when the cooler weather decides to show up! This year the school districts even added a Fall break. What a great time for rest, reflection and restoration. I am thankful for a God that calls us to rest. I am thankful He allows us to reflect on our lives and I am thankful that He restores us. 1 Peter 5:10 says, “The God of all grace, who…

Do It Tired

There’s tired and then there is momma tired. There is so much to keep up with in parenting. There are practices, games, band performances, play dates and birthday parties. There is homework and school activities. There is laundry to wash and dinner to cook. There is always something that needs to be done. It seems like there is never enough time to get everything done. How are we supposed to do it all? Matthew 11:28-30 says, “Come to me, all you…

Harvest

Fall is the time to reap a harvest. How is your crop looking? Have you been planting seeds in your life? Have you been tending to those around you and helping them grow? Some days life can be hard. Some days it can be easy to become weary, but Galatians 6:9 tells us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” This is a…

An Attitude Of Gratitude

It’s Fall y’all. I know, I know, it doesn’t feel like it outside yet, but that is what the calendar says. As we gear up for the approaching holidays, I think the beginning of Fall is a great time to check our attitudes. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Here are a few activities you can do with your children…

Be Like Zacchaeus

This week our children get to learn about Zacchaeus in Sunday School. I remember loving that Bible lesson as a child myself. I thought it was such a neat story about a wee little man. I loved the song about Zacchaeus too. I could just picture him walking and leaping and praising God. I love how the Bible is God’s living word that continues to teach us every day of our lives. We can read all about Zacchaeus in Luke…

Lean On Jesus

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, it’s not Christmas, it’s football season. I love watching my favorite teams play each weekend and cheering them on. My teams win some games, and they lose some games, but I always come back each season loyal as ever. Being the Faith Builder and parent in the home reminds me a lot of football. You get to be the coach and follow Deuteronomy 6:6-7 which tells us, “And these words that…

Gathering Together

The time has come. It may not feel like Fall outside, but it is time for our Fall semester at CrossRidge Church. This semester will start Wednesday, September 7th and will run 10 weeks. We will meet at 7:00pm and have something for everyone. There is nothing better than gathering together mid-week with God’s people. Acts 2:42 says, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.” Let’s devote our Wednesday…

Faith Builders

As parents, there are many titles that you have. There is personal shopper, chef, and chauffeur. There is activity coordinator, homework tutor, and house cleaner. You certainly can’t forget referee, cheerleader, and fashion consultant. You’re the encourager, storyteller, and nurse on call. These are all such an important part of the parenting journey, but do you know the most important role in parenting? Do you know the title that is life saving for your children? Do you know how much…

Now Is The Time

Last Sunday was Promotion Sunday and an exciting day as our children moved up to their new classes. Wednesday Nights are back September 7th at 7:00pm with something for everyone. And if all of that is not enough to get you fired up, then mark your calendars for September 11th for Life Teams. That’s right, Life Teams will start meeting again September 11th with childcare provided at the church. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another in order…

Wednesday Nights Are Back

Mark those calendars and clear those schedules because Wednesday nights are back. That’s right, the Fall semester will start Wednesday, September 7th. This semester will run 10 weeks and end November 9th.  We will meet at 7:00pm and have something for everyone. There is nothing better than gathering together mid-week with God’s people. Acts 2:42 says, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.” Let’s devote our Wednesday nights to…

A New School Year

Back to school. Those words bring tears to some and cheers to others. Another summer has flown by, and another school year is upon us. How are you preparing your family for the new school year? Are you shopping for school supplies and new clothes? Are you cramming in a few last fun activities? Are you reevaluating your upcoming schedule as after-school activities start back up? Or are you spending time with God each day, surrendering the new school year…

Preteen Camp Recap

Summer Camp! A week like no other. We took 67 children and adults to Camp Copass this year. We also had 19 TREK leaders there from CrossRidge Church. We sweated, we swam, we fished, we made crafts, we cooked pancakes and we played Gaga ball, just to name a few activities. We stayed up too late, we had fun at the carnival, we laughed a lot, we ate slobber jobber lollipops and we watched fireworks. We worshipped, we prayed, and…

Church Camp

Church camp! What a wonderful week for our preteens. We’ve been hot, we haven’t slept much, and we’ve eaten camp food. We’ve swam. We’ve made new friends and we’ve belly-laughed.  We’ve worshiped, we’ve prayed, and we’ve learned about Jesus. If you see an adult or child in a purple camp shirt on Sunday, be sure to ask them how their week went. In the meantime, we will all be showering, washing camp clothes, and sleeping. Be sure to check back…

Awesome God!

What a wonderful and monumental week of Vacation Bible School. There were countless hours of preparation that went into this event. There were too many memories and new friendships made to even count. Many hours of sleep were lost. Heaps and piles of food was donated to the Little Elm Food Bank and endless snacks were devoured throughout the week. There were also 2100 water balloons used during recreation time. There were 17 crews of kids going place to place.…
