One of our favorite ways to shine the light of Jesus to our community is through our Dollar Days ministry. This August, the spotlight was on our local police departments in Little Elm and Oak Point—the everyday heroes who ensure our safety.
Breaking previous records, the August Dollar Days initiative raised over $1800! This generous amount, collected on the first Sunday of August, allowed us to truly bless the 89 sworn police officers and nine support staff of Little Elm PD as well as 19 sworn police officers, one code enforcement officer, and one support staff of Oak Point PD.
Twenty-nine people (28 from our CrossRidge Cares ministry and one person from Cane’s Chicken) packed 119 goodie bags, one for each officer and member of support staff at both departments.
On Tuesday, August 29, 31 people from our CrossRidge Cares ministry and our staff delivered the bags to each police department.
Al Gaines, Connections Pastor, thanked and prayed over the police officers. He thanked them for their service and sacrifice, for helping keep us safe, for the things we know they do, and the many, many things we don’t know they do for us on a daily basis.
We also thank the Lord for these officers and pray for their safety, peace of mind, and wisdom in all they do.
