It’s beginning to feel like Fall has finally arrived in Texas. I love when the cooler weather decides to show up! This year the school districts even added a Fall break. What a great time for rest, reflection and restoration. I am thankful for a God that calls us to rest. I am thankful He allows us to reflect on our lives and I am thankful that He restores us. 1 Peter 5:10 says, “The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little while.” We didn’t pick God, He called us. He called us to love Him and to love others. With that call comes suffering. Yes, as Christians, we all will suffer in one way or another, but our hope is in Jesus, knowing that because of His death and resurrection, our suffering will come to an end one day. So, take heart, knowing on your bad days when you feel like your suffering will never end, God has a plan for you. When you take time to rest and reflect, remember that God will strengthen you for what He has called you to do. Most of all, remember that eternity with Jesus is on the other side of our suffering.
