A New School Year

A New School Year

Back to school. Those words bring tears to some and cheers to others. Another summer has flown by, and another school year is upon us. How are you preparing your family for the new school year? Are you shopping for school supplies and new clothes? Are you cramming in a few last fun activities? Are you reevaluating your upcoming schedule as after-school activities start back up?

Or are you spending time with God each day, surrendering the new school year to Him? Are you praying for your family each day? Are you reevaluating your schedule to make sure your children are at church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights? Are you looking for a place of service, so your children can attend Sunday School and Kids’ Church? Are you looking forward to Life Teams starting back up?

A new school year can bring unknown changes, but thankfully God never changes. He is ready for the new school year, and He wants you to be ready too. He has plans for this school year and He wants you to look to Him for guidance. As your school calendar starts to fill up, remember that Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your activities to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” God wants your family in church. God wants you to commit this school year to Him and God wants us, your church family, to be on this journey with you.

So, let’s tackle this school year together. Let’s put what Colossians 3:23-24 says into action, “Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ.” Let’s make this next school year all about God and let’s make all that we do glorify Him. Let’s serve together and let’s make sure our kids know Jesus. They need Him now more than ever.
