In Awe Of God The Creator

When I walk outside each morning now, the lack of scorching heat surprises me.  As the seasons change yet again, I find myself in awe of God the Creator of heaven and earth.  Even as a child, I could connect to God through the created world.  An appreciation for this beautiful world we live in would prompt me to worship God. Scripture says, “For His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since…

True Contentment

“I know how to make do with little, and I know how to make do with a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:12-13 Cambridge Dictionary tells us that contentment is happiness and satisfaction, often because you have everything you need. I don’t know about you, but there aren’t…

Helping Others Around The World

Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 Have you ever read these verses and wished that you could “go…

For The Least of These

Pastor Marc has started a sermon series on “Do Unto Others” based on the Golden Rule.  What is the Golden Rule?  It is found in Matthew 7:12, “Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them—this is the Law and the Prophets.”  Some people didn’t even realize that the Golden Rule was from the Bible!  Most of us were taught this in school too.  So, as we strive to do for others, what does…

Help Feed Lesotho

A family from our church, Jake, Ginger, and Timber, moved to Africa over a year ago and they have been serving the people there. The people that live in their area are facing a government declared national emergency. A famine, paired with this pandemic, has people of this country starving. Because the families have not been able to work due to the pandemic, they don’t have the resources to buy food. We have a unique opportunity to directly help these…

Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. You scream. We all scream for Life Team! Have you heard the good news? Life Teams start meeting again this Sunday, September 13th, and childcare is…

The Joys Of Motherhood

OK dads, you get the week off. This one is for moms. Being a mom is one of the best jobs in the world. There is so much joy that can come from raising kids. There is nothing like a messy hug and kiss from sticky preschoolers after a snack or meal. Bedtime prayers with a toddler fills the heart to keep us going for another day. Watching milestones being met brings out the inner cheerleader in all of us.…

Giving Children Responsibility

Do your children do chores?  Many people feel differently about having their children help around the house or having a set list of chores they are responsible for.  Children learn life skills when given chores to do.  They may not do them as well as you would, but with time they will get better and better.  Giving children responsibility helps to keep them grounded, be less entitled.  Children do not always love doing chores, but life isn’t all fun.  This…
