The Word of God

We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, complete as a revelation of God’s nature and character, and the supreme and final authority in faith and life.

2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21

The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully God, sharing the same nature and attributes.

Genesis 1:26, Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19

God the Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit; perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

John 16:23-27, Galatians 4:4-6, Ephesians 1:3, 17-23

God the Son

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s eternal Son. He is true God and true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal, visible, pre-millennial return from heaven.

Matthew 1:18,23; Luke 24:1-8; John 1:14; Acts 1:11; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21; Hebrews 4:14-16, 7:24-25; Revelation 19:20

God the Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity and is fully God. He regenerates, baptizes into the body of Christ, indwells every believer, guides and empowers believers, and gives gifts to all believers for the strengthening of the church.

John 3:5, 16:13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 6:19, 12:4-13; Romans 8:1-10, 12:3-8; Ephesians 3:16, 4:11-16

Salvation

We believe in salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. We further believe that salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God, was purchased by Christ on the cross, and is received by man through faith alone. Salvation results in righteous living, good works, and proper social concern.

John 1:1-12, 3:3-7, 5:24; Romans 3:21-24, 5:1-2; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Timothy 2:5

Our Core Values

Biblically Based

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God. It serves as our guide and authority in life. It is God’s love letter to us that encourages, directs, convicts, and challenges us to become more like Jesus Christ. It is the foundation for all we do here at CrossRidge Church.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Christ – Centered, Spirit Led

We believe Jesus Christ is our Savior and Lord. He took our place on the cross as our perfect substitute. The only way we have a relationship with God is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We boldly seek to live in daily obedience to Him. We humbly depend on the Holy Spirit to encourage, guide, and strengthen us as we seek to follow Christ.

“Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” – Galatians 5:24, 25

Authentic in Our Walk

We believe it is God’s desire to daily conform us into the image of His Son Jesus Christ. We understand we cannot live the Christian life in our own strength. We seek to encourage one another as we grow in our walk with Christ. We strive to be truthful, loving, and sincere in our relationships. We realize the love and encouragement we give one another is vital in helping us grow in our walk with Christ.

“Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did” – 1 John 2:6

Passionate about Prayer

We believe God still answers prayer. We have the awesome privilege to speak with the Creator of the universe as often as we like. We can cast all of our worries, concerns, and cares on the Lord through prayer. We can thank God for all of His blessings and praise Him for who He is through prayer. We place a high priority on prayer in all we do.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayer and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” – Ephesians 6:18

Grounded in Grace

We are amazed and humbled by the grace God showed to us through His Son Jesus Christ. We did nothing to deserve God’s grace and we understand it is our privilege and responsibility to extend His grace to others. We are confident that God’s grace can transform any life.

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” – John 3:17

Committed to the Lost

We believe Jesus came to provide salvation and forgiveness from sin for those who believe on His Name and place their faith in Him. We have been blessed with a great salvation and we long to see others receive this wonderful gift. We have the greatest news to share with a world that is looking for answers. We are committed to faithfully sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.

“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” – John 1:12

Relevant to Our World

We believe we have the greatest message to share and we strive to share it in the most effective ways. The methods of sharing may change but the message never changes. We seek to reach out to families, individuals, children, teenagers, and adults with God’s love. We prioritize building relationships with people so we can share Jesus with them and encourage them in their walk with Christ.

“I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.” – 1 Corinthians 9:22

Accountable to One Another

We believe God designed us for a relationship with Him and with others. We understand, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we have a responsibility to care for, to encourage, and to pray for one another. Spiritual growth accelerates when we live in genuine, caring relationships with other believers. We desire to provide an environment where we cheer one another toward developing a life that is pleasing to God.

“From Christ the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” – Ephesians 4:16

Committed to Membership

We believe strongly in the importance of becoming an active member of a local church. Christ died for the church and He is the head of the church. The New Testament shares the stories of the early churches formation, growth, and challenges. We ask the members of our church family to commit to the mission, purposes, and vision of our church. We are confident God has a wonderful plan for our lives as individuals and as a church body.

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:25

Focused on Ministry

“We believe every member of our church family has been gifted by God to serve Him. We desire to help each member discover their gift and to provide them a place of service. We believe God is glorified when His children use the gifts and abilities He has given them to bring honor and glory to Christ. There is a great sense of fulfillment and blessing that comes from being involved in ministry.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” – Ephesians 2:10
