Montreal

About 99.5% who live in Montreal do not know where they will spend eternity

Montreal is the most unreached city in North America. About 99.5% who live in Montreal do not know where they will spend eternity. We are partnering with the North American Mission Board and the SEND Montreal initiative to be a part of bringing the Gospel of Jesus to a portion of the work that needs it the most.

Montreal is the largest city in the Canadian province of Quebec, the second-largest city in Canada, and the fifteenth largest in North America. Founded in 1642 and originally called Ville-Marie, or “City of Mary”, its current name is derived from Mount Royal, the triple-peaked hill located in the heart of the city. The streets of downtown Montreal are filled with students protesting tuition increases, well dressed homeless asking for raises and refugees from all over the world who have found freedom in this urban haven. French is the language of choice and this influences the cultural and religious norms of this predominantly Catholic city. The 30 universities in this city are filled with over 350,000 students who have great questions about the meaning of life. They are waiting for someone to introduce them to Jesus in a way they can respond and relate to. There is a love/hate relationship with the Catholic Church that has encouraged many Quebecois to give up on churches altogether. The cathedrals are the emptiest buildings in the city and are used as malls, museums, etc. but rarely are they places of worship. Islam is thriving where Catholicism is dying and this has attracted Middle Eastern, North African and West African immigrants who fill the over 140 mosques each Friday afternoon.

Our church is partnering with Ben and Alyssa Fleet and Renaissance Church to plant a church in Montreal. We hope that you would prayerfully consider being a part of this new work as we get started.

This mission trip costs about $1,800 per member for travel, food, gospel materials, evangelistic activity supplies, and other resources we will use during our trip. It often takes 12-24 generous individuals to support each team member going.

Pray

One of the most import parts of any mission trip is prayer. You can easily be part of this mission trip by beginning today to pray. As the departure date approaches a prayer guide will be provided to give specific ways the team needs to be lifted up in prayer.
